In 1988, Martine and André, two graduates in hotel management from l’Institut de Tourisme et d’Hôtellerie du Québec were going skiing in Vermont and frequently passing by the village of Frelighsburg. They were seeing this abandoned building but full of charms, they said to themselves : » What a nice restaurant this would be «.

Then one day, in the classified adds of the newspaper » LA PRESSE « : Restaurant for rent in Frelighsburg. Mr. Gérard Paris, a new village resident, the man behind Le Petit Champlain in Québec City, tired of seeing that nice building without life and going nowhere bought it and renovated it. André an Martine rented it, they were tenants for seven years. During that period, Martine and André became permanent residents of Frelighsburg and had two children. In 1997, they bought the building and kept the adventure alive.
